Dr. Daniel L. Beckles is an American board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with 30 years of clinical experience in advanced heart, lung, and esophageal surgery.

​

He completed his undergraduate and graduate studies in New York City, earned both his MD and PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology in New York, and completed cardiothoracic surgery training at UT Southwestern in Dallas and Brigham and Women’s Hospital / Harvard.

​

Over the course of his career, Dr. Beckles has held multiple leadership and directorship roles, including:

  • Heart transplantation

  • Lung transplantation

  • Chief, Cardiothoracic Surgery Services

  • Minimally invasive cardiac surgery

  • Minimally invasive thoracic surgery

  • ECMO and Assist Devices

He currently serves as Chief of Cardiothoracic Surgery at CHRISTUS Ochsner in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he is helping develop a destination program for preventive and minimally invasive cardiothoracic surgery.
